Time for the past week in acrostic.
Trent's 40th birthday party was at Winger's. He's old now.
Husband started classes at Snow College Richfield. He already hates it.
Excited, maybe a little overly excited, about reading The Hunger Games.
Panicked over having to speak in church, and drove my public speaking loving husband insane.
Avoided going to my first scouting meeting. Hey! I had a good excuse; I was babysitting Pais.
Subed for two days for the students I student-taught with. I kind of missed them . . . kind of.
Ticked over Richfield stores' inablity to carry books that I want to read
Was introduced to my self-proclaimed namesake/new niece, Claira Kae. She's adorable!
Eating way too much carmel covered popcorn now that I have a lot of time on my hands.
Earned (ok, really just got, but I needed an 'E' word) a library card. Still couldn't get my hands on that dang book.
Kindled with excitment when Wal-mart finally had The Hunger Games in stock, and have spent the entire day reading it. A day well spent.
Spoke in church on Sunday. Hated every minute of it.

Most Awkward of 2010
Happy New Year (a few days late). James and I look forward to a new year full of new things. Since I've finished school, I'll be on the job hunt this year. Luckily, come February I'll be starting a long-term sub job, teaching 7th grade English. Wish me luck! James is going to be finishing up school this year. YAY! He starts classes tomorrow at Snow College Richfield. We're excited for the events of 2011, but we look back on 2010 with much fondness. Who could forget all those awkward moments we all loved, such as James saying inapproprate things, Chad making uncomforatble phone calls, and my old students critizing my poofy hair? In homage to 2010, I present to you "MOST AWKWARD PEOPLE OF 2010."

#5. Old Guy with Zipper Down on Cruise
As most of you know, James and I got to go on a cruise to Mexico in May, and obviously this is where we had the delight of meeting "Old Guy with Zipper Down on Cruise." "Old Guy" was hard to not notice. He had a fondness for wearing bermuda shorts with cowboyish coats and fancy hats. He also loved to wear very odd, woven shoes with tall socks. And tradgically, he didn't pull up his zipper.
#4. Snooki Look-alike
At a birthday outing to El Mexicano, James and I ran into Snooki. Oh wait, it was just someone who looked just like her. Who in Sevier County (i.e. the middle of NO WHERE) needs to look like this?
#3. Distant Cousin at Alvey Family Reunion

#3. Distant Cousin at Alvey Family Reunion
I've meet most of James' extended family, and for the most part they are all perfectly normal people. At a Alvey family reunion we went to this summer, I meet the very awkward distant cousin. Umm... can you say Dungeons and Dragons? All that needs to be said is, as we were going around each introducing ourselves a bit, "creepy distant cousins" felt the need to express his love Lord of the Rings and fantasy books.
#2. Rachel
Rachel and I have been acquaintances for a while now through college classes. There is so much to say about this awkward individual, but two words sum everything up: THEARTER MAJOR. Yes, Rachel is a drama nerd. She also loves to share uncomfortably personal stories, whines about how her students walk all over her, thinks she knows everything about the plight of African-Americans because she once dated one, and desires to have a black baby one day after seeing Blind Side.
#1. Counselor in the Bishopric
James and I have lived in our current ward for about 8 months now. We've recently had two uncomfortably, awkward incounters with one of the counselors of the bishopric. After sitting through an interview where I was called to serve as the Bear Learder (yeah, that's stupid) I became convinced he is autistic. After speaking with him yesterday after church, I'm certain of it. Our conversation went something like this:
Counselor: (In a straight, serious face, NEVER cracking a smile, but looking extremely uncomfortable the whole time) The other counselor left early today because his back was hurting him.
James and I: Smiling and nodding
Counselor: You don't see me going home when my back hurts.
James and I: Feeling uncomfortable
Counselor: (Again, not cracking a smile and looking awkward) I'm being funny. I'm making a joke.
James and I: pretend laughter
P.S. James and I have to speak in church on Sunday, and it's probably going to be the first really awkward moment of 2011. Can't wait!
Oh, and just because, I'll leave you with a few pics from our Holidays.
