Things We Love About Delb

The Delb in all his glory

Even though we should really call him dad, he'll answer to Delb too.
He is missing half a finger and often tries to convince small children they lost it.

He has a fondness for weird hats and ugly clothing.

He is an excellent ironer and baggage boy.

He is weird sometimes, and he does not give a %$@#!

He loves cheese and hot sauce with a passion unmatched by any other.

He becomes obsessed with things for large spans of time. Obsession since I've been alive: fly fishing, bonsai trees, weight lifting, the end of the world, gardening.

He willingly admits that I'm his favorite child. Right, dad?
He is genuine and loving, and he is just good old Delb!

Hope you had a good Father's Day. Love you, Dad!

What's New with Your Favorite Awkward Couple

Since I've been really awful at posting anything lately (1: because I'm lazy, 2: because we haven't done anything too interesting lately, 3: because we REALLY need a new camera, and 4: because I'm fairly certain Amanda is the only person that religiously reads this and she knows everything anyway) well . . . despite #4, I thought I'd give you (Amanda) a quick recap of anything important that I've missed, which is a lot.

#1: I GOT A JOB! You are know honored to be reading the blog of the newest English teacher of Gunnison Valley Middle School. I'll be teaching 8th grade English and some other weird class that I guess I'm suppose to make up.

The school I'll be working at.

#2: BECAUSE OF MY NEW JOB, WE'LL BE MOVING! We're looking for a house to rent in Gunnison (I'm REALLY sick of living in apartments), but nothing much is available, so whether we end up buying, renting, living in Gunnison, or just being homeless, WE'RE MOVING!

#3: JAMES SOLD HIS TRUCK! I would just like to say that it was all his idea; I told him he did not have to, but he sold it to some plig lady anyway, and then he was sad about.

Good bye, poor truck!

#4: WE'RE BUYING ME A NEW CAR! We decided that since we're probably moving to Gunnison and James will be commuting quite a bit to Richfield, he would drive my beastly white car (that gets good gas mileage) and I would get a new car. Hopefully somthing like this.

#5 AMANDA AND CHAD HAD A BABY GIRL AND I LIKE TO THINK THEY NAMED HER AFTER ME! Although they won't fully admit that she is my namesake, HELLO her name is Claira (yeah, I came up with that) Kae (yeah, that's my middle name) Lloyd (yeah, that used to be my last name too). She is adorable, and fat, and jolly, and we love her, and . . . she is definetly named after her favorite aunt!

The tutu I made her.

See, very jolly.

#6 TRISHA AND KEVIN HAD A BABY GIRL TOO! Tradgically she was not named after me. Her name is Eva Grace Daniels, and she is adorable, and fat, and not so much jolly, but very sassy, and we love her too!

Eva the Diva.

I had to make her a tutu too.

One Thing James Can't Resist . . . A Sale

I've been bugging James a bit over the past few months to buy me some new furniture for our living room. While I do appreciate getting the couches we had for free from my in-laws when we first got married and couldn't afford to buy new ones, well . . . they were hidious and honestly a little gross looking. See.

Exhibit A: Cute nephews, but ugly couches.

Exhibit B: Cute husband opening up Christmas present, but nasty couch.

James hadn't ever been too happy to jump at the idea of spending money on couches, but there is one thing an Alvey cannot resist and that is a sale. Luckily a Memorial Day Sale ad came in the mail, and BAM . . . new couches and tables for the living room!

Now I just need to find a sale for pillows and something cute to go on the coffee table.

James' Fishing Extravaganza

In April (I think it was April) James ditched me for three days to go fishing at Lake Powell with my brother Trent and my dad. While I sat at home being extremely bored and lonely, James was out doing things like this.

Thanks peeps for not considering to take your baby sister/favorite daugher/WIFE!
